At the end of 1800s, Ernesto and Luigi “Gino”Riccardi
cultivated Moscato and Barbera grapes on the hills of Oltrepo’ Pavese in
the region of Lombardia, Italy.
They were selling their wines in ‘damigiane’
(50 liters jugs), transporting the jugs by horses and carriage to the nearby cities of Pavia
and Milan.
More than a century later, their great grandson Roberto continues their legacy importing
the same varietals from Oltrepo’ Pavese , as well as other fine Italian wines, to
the USA.
International Wine Merchants of America was founded by Roberto Riccardi
in 2005 and today its wines can be found in more than 350 restaurants and wine stores in the five boroughs of New
York City, as well as in some of the best restaurants and liquor stores throughout the USA
